British billionaire and businessman Jim Ratcliffe has now submitted his first bid to buy Manchester United, MySportDab reports.
His representatives confirmed that Ratcliffe is interested in buying Manchester United and said: ‘We have now officially started the process.’
Ratcliffe will face competition from the United States, Asia and the Middle East to buy the Premier league club.
In December 2022, the Glazer family confirmed their plans to sell Manchester United after 17 years at Old Trafford.
The 70-year-old billionaire also tried to buy Chelsea but lost to a consortium led by Todd Boehly in May.
However, he did hold talks with Manchester United co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer in 2022.
The Glazers want at least over £5billion for the club but can also sell a minority stake to an investor.
People interested in the club must declare their interest with investment bank Raine Group, and the formal offers will continue this month.
MySportDab understands that the sale could be completed before the season ends.
Ratcliffe is also the owner of French club OGC Nice, and remains a boyhood United fan.
