Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek could not hold back his tears after a nasty knee injury against Bournemouth, MySportDab reports.
The Dutch player had to be taken off in the first half of Tuesday’s match after Marcos Senesi slipped and slid into his leg in just his second game of the season.
He was immediately surrounded by United’s medical staff and limped off covering his face to cover his tears.
After the match, Coach Erik Ten Hag said: ‘We have to do some scans, but it’s not looking good.’
In the 42nd minute with United already leading 1-0, Bournemouth defender Senesi tried to get the ball from Van De Beek with a 50-50 tackle.
However, the Argentine centre back slipped, and his left knee accidentally smashed into Van de Beek.
Video of the horrible incident shows Van de Beek’s right leg bending in a bad way.
The former Ajax player immediately cried in pain, as team-mates and opponents saw how bad the injury was for him.
The £40million signing Van de Beek was just playing in his second only start in Premier League this season.
And now it looks likely he won’t be available for some time due to this knee injury.
Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford scored for Manchester United to keep their top four hopes alive.
