Manchester United have announced the signing of Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils made a shock transfer swoop on deadline day to land the prolific midfielder after highly-rated Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen was confirmed sidelined.
Christian Eriksen picked up a severe injury during Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Reading in the FA Cup.
Andy Caroll, who later bagged a red card in the game, roughly tackled Christian Eriksen from the side making the 30-year-old to limped off the pitch.
After the game, Christian Eriksen was spotted struggling to walk on crutches and it was apparent he will be sidelined for months following the injury.
Manchester United confirmed in a club statement Christian Eriksen will be ruled out of action for up three months following scan on the ankle injury.
The former Brentford player will now return to Old Trafford in late April or early May depending on how he respond to rehabilitation.
Following the situation of Christian Eriksen’s injury, Manchester United were now compelled to make a shock deadline transfer swoop for out-of-favor Bayern Munich midfielder, Marcel Sabitzer.
The Red Devils have now signed and announced Sabitzer after few hours of talks and negotiations with Bayern.
Sabitzer will play for the Red Devils till the end of the season on loan. There is no buy option attached to the deal.
Before joining Manchester United, Sabitzer has played 54 games and scored twice for Bayern in 2021, but he has struggled to make the team’s starting lineup.

Last season, he started only eight Bundesliga matches, scored once and provided one assist.
Sabitzer is believed to be a good replacement for injured Christian Eriksen, and will join the the likes of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in Manchester United’s midfield.
