Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday answered his critics with a double for Portugal in Euros 2024 qualifiers, MySportDab reports.

The former Manchester United forward was on top of his game as Portugal cruised to a deserved and resounding 4-0 win over Liechtenstein in their opening Euros 2024 qualifiers.

Joao Cancelo opened the scoring for the home side just eight minutes into the game before heading into the first-half break.

In the second half, Manchester City star Bernardo Silva doubled the lead in the 47th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spot-kick four minutes after Portugal’s second to seal the win for the team.

After his first goal, the Man United legend was absolutely not done with the game.

In the 63rd minute, he delivered a stunning free-kick goal that made it 4-0 for the home side.

The goal was a wonder goal by the former Real Madrid star.

Stepping up to take the free kick, as usual, he spaced himself from the ball.

At the blast of the whistle, Ronaldo took a short quick dart towards the ball and blasted a thunderbolt right-footed strike pass the Liechtenstein wall.

The ball flew like lightning with great speed into the net with the Liechtenstein goalkeeper unmoved and shocked as it hit the net.

It was an incredible strike and Ronaldo’s record 120th goal for the national team in his record 197th appearance for Portugal.

While the calls for him to quit during the World Cup got louder after the tournament, Ronaldo must have proved his critics wrong with the double for Portugal yesterday.
