Norway has confirmed Erling Haaland injury blow and withdrawal from 2024 Euros Qualifiers, MySportDab reports.

The Manchester City forward will now miss the double header qualifier for Norway for 2024 Euro Championship.

Erling Haaland was named in the Norway squad that will tackle Spain and Georgia in the 2024 Euros qualifiers during the international break.

According to reports, the Manchester City ace will now face the race against time to return to Manchester City lineup when the Premier League returns following the international break.

Manchester City will tackle Liverpool after the international break as they hope to close the point on Arsenal on top of the table.

Missing the in-form former Borussia Dortmund ace could be a very big blow to Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

The statement by Norway FA confirming the injury blow to Erling Haaland disclose Erling Haaland picked up a groin injury in his last game for Manchester City against Burnley in the FA Cup.

Norway expressed disappointment with Haaland’s groin injury and added they had hope to carry on with the striker but learnt he cannot carry on with the squad for the qualifiers after medical examination.

The statement from the Norway FA read: “Erling Braut Haaland had some pain in his groin after the match against Burnley.

“We hoped that this was just a familiarity that would carry over to Saturday, but after doing tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he will not make it to the games against Spain and Georgia,” the statement added.

Erling Haaland will now return to Manchester City to receive a follow up medical attention from Manchester City medical team.

Erling Haaland has been in top shape for Manchester City thus season.

Before the international break, he netted five goals in the UEFA Champions League win over RB Leipzig at Etihad.

He also bagged a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 6-0 thrashing of Burnley in the FA quarterfinal at Etihad.

His goal tally for City this season has increased to 42 goals in all competitions.

He has scored 21 goals for Norway in his 23 appearances for the team.
