Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel made moves to stop his estranged wife from publishing explosive emails after Chelsea sack, MySportDab reports.
The German tactician lost his job following a short run of poor results in the Premier League and Champions League.
The last straw that broke the camel’s back was when Chelsea lost their Champions League group game to Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb.
Despite the short trapping of poor results, the sack of Thomas Tuchel came as a shocker for many football fans and pundits.
First, he was not up to a year at the job and had won the Champions League just a few months after taking over the reins at Stamford Bridge.
He also won the Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup and reach the final of domestic English competition.
Also, it was just a few games into the season hence his sack came as a surprise to many fans.
There were several conjectures on why Thomas Tuchel was shown the exit door by Todd Boehly after the Champions League defeat.
Some reports attributed it to Todd Boehly’s need to start a new era at the club with a new coach while others blamed Tuchel’s “difficult personality off the field” for the sack.
Meanwhile, Tuchel has split with his wife, Sisi during his spell at Chelsea, and the duo are currently battling in Munich court in Germany after the split.
Now, an email from England to his ex-wife, Sisi has shown Thomas Tuchel was sacked for “off-field reasons and because the players lost confidence in him.”
The revelation is said to have been confirmed in the ongoing legal tussle between the two ex-couple in Germany.
Sisi, 51, who is a journalist is said to have been called from England in September last year when her ex-husband was sacked.
According to German media outlet Bild, Sisi was told Thomas Tuchel’s mysterious “off-field characteristics and loss of influence with the players” led to his sack.
The report also confirmed Thomas Tuchel had made frantic efforts to stop Sisi from publishing the email.
Sisi and Thomas Tuchel got married in 2009. The marriage hit the rocks in 2022 with both partners going their separate way when Sisi filed divorce proceedings.
