Sheffield United are back to the Premier League after dispatching West Brom at Bramal Lane to return to the English topflight, MySportDab reports.
The Blades nearly saw the promotion party delayed after West Brom, who are fighting for a place in the playoffs held them to a golless draw in the first half.
But the game took a drastic turn in the second as the victory-hungry home side pushed more to earn a win.
They needed nothing less from a win to secure promotion hence they gave their all in the second half
Norway international Berge opened the scoring for Sheffield United in the 58th minute to edge the Blades close to a crucial win.
Late in the second half Ahmedhodzic scored Sheffield United’s second to seal a win and promotion to the top flight.
The victory saw the Championships side secure 85 points from 43 games to clear the gap on the playoffs spot by 7 points with three matches remaining.
This means Sheffield United will not be dragged into the playoffs battle as they have three games in hand while all teams likely to head to the playoffs have played 44 games.
Sheffield United’s promotion into the English top flight have been attributed to the outstanding performance of their manager Paul Heckingbottom.
Paul Heckingbottom took over the Blades in 2021 with the team languishing on the 16th position on the table.
In his first season at the Bramal Lane dugout, Paul Heckingbottom led Sheffield United to the playoffs but crashed out in the semifinals after losing to Nottingham Forest.
Now, he has led the team to automatic Premier League promotion after the disappointment last season.
Sheffield United is now the second team to be automatically promoted to the Premier League after Burnley sealed their promotion in a win over Middlesbrough in Championships matchday 39.
