Manchester United Coach Erik ten Hag has now slammed his player for the lack of fight after they crashed out of the Europa League, MySportDab reports.
United lost the second leg in Spain 3-0 as they made an early exit with 5-2 on aggregate.
Harry Maguire and David de Gea have now been heavily criticised by fans after their mistakes allowed Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri to score twice.
However, Ten Hag is angry with the performance and attitude of all Manchester United players.
‘We obviously let ourselves and the fans down completely,’ said the United manager.
‘You must have character to win trophies, and become successful.
‘We must do better. It’s not only focused on playing skills. It’s about character, composure, desire and passion. Sevilla were more determined to win. It’s unacceptable.
“When we unnecessary mistakes it becomes hard to win a game.”
“When you play for Man Utd, you must always be ready for every game… we can only blame ourselves.
‘We lost all the battles. Sevilla had the willingness, desire, passion, and that makes it difficult to win games.
‘The players must perform. I believe in them, but they have to show it on the pitch and they were horrible.
‘We have shown good things before but tonight we looked different.
‘This was a another opportunity to win something and we threw it away immediately. We must only blame ourselves. It’s happened, we can’t change the past.’
Manchester United must now prepare for their next match against Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final.
