Thirteen Manchester United players are set to face the axe in the summer, MySportDab reports.
Erik Ten Hag is bent on trimming down the size of the Red Devils’ squad at the end of the summer with some players set to face the axe, according to reports from Daily Mail.
After a mini-revival of the Old Trafford club, Erik Ten Hag has established his preferred choice for attacking, midfield and defensive roles.
Some players have fit into his style while others have fallen out of favor and have to be cleared out.
Leading the list of players facing the axe is Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.
Maguire has struggled for game time under Erik Ten and has been consigned to the bench for most games.
The Three Lions center-back has spoken of his need for more game time but has obviously lost his starting berth under Ten Hag.
Another player that is set to face the axe in the summer is Anthony Martial.
While Martial was integral to Erik Ten Hag’s deep press style, he has struggled for fitness and have seen his spell under the new manager marred with niggling injuries.
The Dutch tactician may likely part ways with the Frenchman at the end of the season with the club eyeing high-profile attackers like Kolo Muani and Harry Kane to partner with Marcus Rashford in the front.
Brandon Williams, Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also on the list of players that may likely leave at the end of the season.
Former Ajax star Van de Beek is also on the list, including Scotland’s Euro 2024 Qualifiers hero McTominay.
Alex Telles, Anthony Elanga, including Phil Jones are also on the list.
According to reports, Erik Ten Hag is losing his patience with Jadon Sancho while David de Gea is yet to renew his contract. Both players are facing uncertain Man United future.
