Angry Espanyol fans chased down Barcelona players off the pitch after Barca won their 27th league title, MySportDab reports.
After Barça’s 4-2 win over Espanyol away from the Camp Nou, the players tried celebrating on the pitch but were chased down the tunnel l.
The players gathered around the centre-circle after winning the match but angry Espanyol supporters then broke a security line and headed towards the players.
Security failed to block the fans as they were too many and they ran straight towards the players in large numbers with weapons.
Some Espanyol ultras even entered the tunnel and were confronted by some Barca players.
MySportDab understands that none of the players were harmed, as they made the quick exit from the pitch.
Speaking after the game, Barcelona Coach Xavi said: ‘It’s okay to celebrate but I think we can’t be disrespectful since we are not at home.’
Espanyol lost the match completely and got beaten by a Barcelona team with Robert Lewandowski.
Lewa opened the scoring in 11 minutes thanks to Alejandro Balde’s assist and Balde scored the second of the match nine minutes later.
Five minutes before half time, Lewandowski scored his 21st goal of the season to make it 3-0.
He had a bad run of form after the World Cup but has come back strongly and will finish the season as La Liga top goalscorer and a Champion.
Jules Kounde scored Barcelona’s fourth goal on 53 minutes but then Javi Puado and Joselu scored back for Espanyol to make it 4-2.
Barcelona started the current season with an unbeaten run that was only interrupted by their loss to Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the season.
