Erik ten Hag has now given fans a much needed update on the Mason Greenwood situation, MySportDab reports.

The Dutch coach said that Greenwood has shown before that he can score many goals for the club.

The young England footballer got arrested due to rape and assault charges in January 2022 but all the charges have now been dropped in February 2023.

Manchester United are now currently carrying out an internal investigation into his arrest which won’t be completed until the end of the current season.

A few weeks ago, Greenwood had told some of his friends that he was worried he might ‘never play for Man United again’.

According to The Daily Mail, Greenwood had his first meeting with the United hierarchy in February to discuss his future at the top.

Juventus remain actively interested in signing Greenwood this summer on a long-term loan deal.

Now, Speaking in an interview with The Times, Ten Hag was asked if he needs another striker up top.

The conversation got to the Greenwood situation and Ten Hag said: ‘It’s obvious he has shown before that he can keep scoring goals for United.’

Ten Hag also made it clear that any decision on the forward’s future Manchester United won’t be from him.

Reports claim Greenwood has already spoken with Ten Hag over a call after the charges were dropped in February.

Greenwood signed his current four-year contract in February 2021, and still earns him £75,000-per-week.

His last football match came in a 1-0 win for Manchester United against West Ham in January 2022.
