Liverpool have confirmed four of their top players are going to leave the club at the end of the summer, MySportDab reports.
The four big names that has been slated to leave the club this summer are Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita.
In an official statement available on the club’s website, Liverpool said;
“Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita will leave the club at the of the season.
“The quartet will each embark on new chapters in their careers following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, having helped the Reds lift a host of the game’s biggest honours during their spells at Anfield.
The club’s statement also add a special tribute will be arranged for the four players in Liverpool’s last home game against Aston Villa this season on Saturday.
“With the visit of Aston Villa on Saturday being the Reds’ final home fixture of the campaign, special acknowledgements will be paid to the quartet at Anfield”
MySportDab understands Roberto Firmino turned down a new contract proposal from Liverpool and called for his exit from the club following his recent struggles to break into the starting lineup.
Firmino signed for Liverpool in 2015 from Hoffenheim and was instrumental to Jurgen Klopp’s resurgent Liverpool squad.
Firmino is linked to a move to Barcelona in the summer.
James Milner, 37, will also leave Anfield at the summer. He joined the club as a free agent from Manchester City in 2015.
He is linked to a move to Brighton in the summer.
Also in the Liverpool exit list is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 27,
Chamberlain joined Liverpool in 2017 from Arsenal and was making immense progress at the start of his career at Anfield before he was his spell at the club was mired with injury since 2018.
He will leave at the end of the summer when his contract at Anfield will come to an end.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa are some of the clubs interested in signing him.
Naby Keita, 28, will also leave at the end of the season.
The Guinea international joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2018 and has struggled with 20 injuries in his give year spell at Anfield.
He is linked to a move to Borussia Dortmund at the end of the summer.
All the four players were part of Jurgen Klopp’s revived Liverpool squad. They have all won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
