Barcelona Women made a dramatic comeback to seal the Women’s Champions title 3-2 against Wolfsburg, MySportDab reports.
The final was an epic one which saw the German side crushing the first half only to come in and lost everything on the pitch to lose the title.
First Half Report
The first half was one sided as the German team made sure they are able to make something happen going forward in the game.
Wolfsburg took the lead in the 3rd minutes through a goal from Ewa Pajor which came as a result of Lucy Bronze error which made it 0-1.
Barcelona weren’t good enough as they did everything possible to scoring the leveler which didn’t come despite how they came close once.
Alexandra Popp scored in the 37th minutes making the scoreline 0-2 for the German side who continued dominating play and taking their opportunities so well.
The first half came to an end with Wolfsburg taking a 0-2 lead into the break against Barcelona who couldn’t make anything happen from their end.
Second Half Report
The second half was a different ball game which saw the Spanish side coming in with so much power and pace going forward.
Wolfsburg had their lead as the second half continued with them doing so much to calm things down as they push along in the encounter.
Barcelona Women pulled one goal back in the 48th minutes of the match through Patricia Guijarro Gutierrez who made the scoreline 1-2 as the match carried on.
Patricia Guijarro Gutierrez made it a brace in the 50th minutes with yet another beauty which came from an error which made the scoreline level 2-2.
The game pushed on with both teams applying enough pressure until Fridolina Rolfo finished off neatly in the 70th minutes making the game 3-2 for Barcelona.
Wolfsburg couldn’t make a comeback as they lost the UEFA Women’s Champions League final 3-2 despite starting the game so well but dropped their place.
