Portugal played out a 0-1 victory against Iceland in a match in which Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show, MySportDab reports.
Ronaldo made his record-breaking 200 National team appearance which saw him also getting a Guinness Book of Records certificate.
First Half Report
Both teams did well enough going forward in the first 45 minutes in which they couldn’t make anything happen from their end.
It was Iceland who had a lot of work defending as they were up against so much quality players who tried pushing with everything they had.
Portugal were less impressive from their play which they couldn’t make anything happen despite the amount of opportunities they had going forward.
The game hit the 40th minutes mark with nothing yet able to separate them despite what was witnessed all through mostly from the away side.
Iceland held Portugal to a 0-0 scoreline which saw them both heading for the break after 45 minutes of football played between the both of them.
Second Half Report
The second half was a brilliant one which both sides did Impress but it wasn’t good enough to ensure something happen.
Portugal dominated play but couldn’t take the lead as the match carried on with more tactical work being deployed by the home side coach.
Iceland were more organized as they aim was to make sure they kept their opponent from breaking them at any little mistake made in their play which they did so well.
The game was already looking done and dusted until Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunner in the 89th minutes of the game giving his side the lead 0-1 as they pushed forward.
The goal was the last action as Portugal scrapped through a 0-1 victory against Iceland in an encounter which saw Ronaldo making his 200 cap for national team and also scored a goal.
