Real Madrid have confirmed Karim Benzema has left the club as he comes to the end of his contract, MySportDab reports.
A statement made available on the club’s website and social media handle confirmed the former France international and World Cup winner has exited the club after 14 years.
The statement reads;
“Real Madrid and our captain Karim Benzema have agreed to bring to an end to his brilliant and unforgettable time as a player at our club.
“Real Madrid would like to show its gratitude and affection to the man who is already one of our greatest legends.”
Karim Benzema joined Real Madrid in 2009 and has spent 14 years of his career with the club.
His career at Real Madrid peaked last season when he led Real Madrid to Champions League and La Liga triumph.
The former France international scored a record 44 goals for Real Madrid to help the club land the Champions League and La Liga double.
He won the 2022 Ballon d’Or award after his standout performance for Real Madrid.
The statement confirming Karim Benzema’s exit has put to an end speculations on the future of the Real Madrid legend.
He reportedly closed in on agreeing a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid before the sharp turn of events.
Benzema will leave the Madrid capital as Real Madrid’s second all-time top scorer with 354 goals behind his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo who has 450 goals.

He feuded with France coach Didier Deschamps after the latter refused to call him back to France World Cup squad after he recovered from an injury he picked while training with the squad.
According to reports Benzema has agreed a deal to join Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia where he will meet his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who is also plying his trade in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr.
