Manchester United have received a big boost on the race to sign Mason Mount this summer, MySportDab reports.

Erik Ten Hag is vigorously chasing a deal with Chelsea to land the prolific and highly-rated England star.

Meanwhile, after a contract renewal impasse, Chelsea are ready to sell Mason Mount with a reported fee of £80m.

Mount has reached personal agreement with Manchester United but discussions on other details of the deal is ongoing.

While hoping to land the England star, the Red Devils had to battle off interest in Mount by rival Premier League clubs.

Liverpool were leading the list of other clubs interested in signing Mason Mount this summer.

Jurgen Klopp was intent on bringing the prolific attacking midfielder to Anfield this summer as the Reds seek to revamp a crumbling midfield that has stripped them off Champions League football next season.

Now, according to the Athletic, Liverpool have drop out of the race to sign Mason Mount because of Chelsea’s price tag for the player.

The feeling at Anfield about the England international is that he has fallen below Chelsea’s price tag and they are not willing to fork out that amount for the player.

This means Manchester United are the only frontline Premier League club left in the race for Mason Mount.

Chelsea want between £70m to £80m for the player before parting ways with him this summer.

Despite emerging as a top favorite to sign Mason Mount, Manchester United are also valuing Mason Mount below Chelsea’s price tag.

The Red Devils are reportedly set to table a £50m offer for Mason Mount which is more likely to be turned down by Chelsea.

Chelsea are bent on keeping Mount if offers do not meet their demand for the player.
