Benfica have rejected Manchester United player plus cash offer for highly-rated Portugal striker, MySportDab reports.
Manchester United tabled a player-plus-cash offer to Benfica in an attempt to sign the Portuguese 2022 World Cup star but the offer has been turned down.
According to reports from CaughtOffside, Benfica turned down the offer for Goncalo Ramos in a big blow for Man United’s attempt to fill the void at the club’s frontline attack.
Manchester United reportedly included Brazil star Alex Telles as part of the deal to sign Goncalo Ramos as they stepped up their search for a striker.
According to reports, Man United offered €50m for Goncalo Ramos and added Alex Telles to the deal in a push to sign the player.
Recall the club who seemed far away from signing Harry Kane, were interested in two prolific attacking duo – Goncalo Ramos and Rasmus Hojlund – as Harry Kane alternative.
Following the rejection of the bid Goncalo Ramos bid by Benfica, it is still unclear whether Manchester United will table an improved offer for the player.
The club now have Rasmus Hojlund as the only striker option left and will be hoping to seal a deal with Atlanta to make the move happen.
MySportDab understand Rasmus Hojlund has already indicated his interest in joining Manchester United with personal agreement not a problem.
But the Red Devils will have to talk Atlanta into selling the prolific young forward.
Meanwhile, the Premier League side are hoping to use Mason Greenwood loan move to Atlanta to push through a move for Rasmus Hojlund.
We reported earlier Mason Greenwood is set for a return to football as Manchester United have decided to loan him to Atlanta to revive his career.
