Chelsea and Newcastle United settled for a dramatic 1-1 draw in their preseason friendly clash, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Chelsea started the game on the front foot dominating proceedings from the start and were set to take lead with a good spell of possession and dominant press.

Newcastle United also fought hard in the game, putting Chelsea in pressure with a good possession and dominant display when with the ball but Chelsea had a far better start in the game.

In the 12th minutes, Chelsea new signing from Villarreal, Nicolas Jackson dropped the curtain raiser in the game, firing Chelsea into the lead.

It was a brilliant strike from the Senegal international, who now recorded his second preseason goal for the club.

Newcastle United mounted a formidable response after conceding as they fought back immediately to dominate proceedings and proceed with threatening attacks.

Their efforts paid off just at the stoppage time of the first half as Almiron scored a 45+4th equaliser to draw the game before the first half break.

Second Half Report

The game was strongly contested by both sides in the second half with Newcastle United seeming to have more of the ball possession but createdess chances.

Chelsea showed more dominant display towards the 60th minute and were threatening when on the press but overall both sides had few chances to break the tie.

After a dragging contest, the match stood at 1-1 draw after the final whistle as Chelsea continue with their unbeaten preseason run under Mauricio Pochettino.
