Inter Milan have confirmed their position on Manchester United’s verbal proposal for Andre Onana, MySportDab reports.
Recall Manchester United, who are looking for replacement for David de Gea, made a £34m verbal proposal for Andre Onana.
Now, Inter Milan have confirmed their position on the verbal offer for the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
In a quote by Inter Milan director, Ausilio, shared by Fabrizio Romano, the club confirmed Manchester United has indeed made the verbal proposal for the player but it has not met their demand for the player.
They also stated Andre Onana is still Inter Milan goalkeeper and the club will be hoping to have him back to the club on July 13 when preseason starts despite interest by Manchester United.
“As of today, the proposals are not of the level we expected.
“In this moment, Andre Onana is our goalkeeper and he is key for us. We will like to keep him and then see what happens next. We are hoping to have him back for preseason on July 13,” Ausilio said.
Manchester United hope to sign Andre Onana to replace David De Gea who is out of contract.
Despite interest on Onana, Manchester United are reportedly still open for contract renewal talks with David De Gea.
However, it is understood De Gea is on the radar of Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia who are offering a competitive wage offer of £250,000 weekly than what Manchester United is offering De Gea.
The interest from Al Nassr will definitely put Manchester United under pressure to close in on Onana deal should a renewal deal with David De Gea fails as things stand.
Onana and David De Gea worked together at Ajax; a move could see the Cameroonian reunite with Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United.
Man United will have to now increase their proposal for Andre Onana if they want to sign the player as Inter Milan have taken their stand on the £34m verbal proposal.
Sources close to the club reveal they want an offer in the tune of £50m to part ways with Andre Onana.
