Manchester United are set to extend Erik Ten Hag’s contract amid the dragging takeover process, MySportDab reports.

Manchester United have been thrown into a near-crisis in the takeover process that has taken more than expected to be concluded.

After the Glazers put up the club for sale in November 2022, various bids from interested parties have been submitted but a sale is yet to happen.

It was believed the takeover process will be concluded before the current 2023/24 season gets underway but as things stand the Glazers are still in control of proceedings at the club.

Wrangles and disagreement both within members of the Glazers family and bidders have been reported further deepening doubts whether the takeover process will be logically concluded soon.

Amid the row, Erik Ten Hag’s future at the club has been on the spotlight.

Ten Hag has a contract with Manchester United until 2025. After this season, he will enter the last year of his contract.

According to Daily Star, Manchester United are ready to extend Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United contract irrespective of the outcome of the takeover process.

The report adds Manchester United are ready to extend his deal by two more years untill 2027 before the end of this year.

Ten Hag overturned a crumbling start last season to return Manchester United to the top four in the Premier League.

He also led the club in his debut season to the EFL Cup trophy – their first trophy in six years.

Ten Hag has also overseen a number of big changes to Manchester United squad as he sets out to maintain his grip on the squad.

He parted ways with two Manchester United legends Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea, and removed Harry Maguire as Manchester United.

He has also overseen a number of big signings and exits such as Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, and Rasmus Holjund.

The Dutch tactician will be hoping to continue in his brilliant run last season as he sets out for his second season at Manchester United.
