Match Report

It was so much more from both Women National teams who made sure they pushed so hard and tried to make more happen.

England came into the encounter after seeing off Nigeria in the round of 16 which saw them doing the most of the game after a red card for Lauren James.

Colombia did not have it easy as they had to make sure they come into the match with a lot for them to get a goal which did not come.

As the game pushed on, Leicy Maria Santos Herrera scored to give her side a 0-1 lead in the 44th minutes with the assist coming from Linda Caicedo.

England responded quickly in the additional time with a goal from Lauren Hemp which ended the first half with a 1-1 scoreline against Colombia who couldn’t do much.

They came in prepared for the second half which had a lot coming from both ends who looked so good and pushing for something else.

Colombia held on fine with them equally in the match building so much but failed to make the finish into something that could have given them the lead.

England took the lead with a stunner from Arsenal new signing Alessia Russo who was able to make things 2-1 in the 63rd minutes of the match.

It was cagey in the remaining minutes which they had to make a lot happen but it came to an end with England 2-1 Colombia which see the Lionesses advance into the semifinals.
