Arsenal won their 7th Emirates Cup title after beating Monaco 5-4 via penalties after playing a 1-1 draw, MySportDab reports.
The game was an amazing one which saw both teams pushing and holding each other until the penalties that settled everything.
The Gunners continued their dominance as the Emirates Cup winners with no team being able to displace them from winning.
Match Report
It was a good game between both teams which saw some legendary faces coming to watch the encounter which went down.
Arsenal were boosted with the support of Arsene Wenger who was present to see the team play in a match that prepare them for the new season.
Monaco were also blessed with the legendary faces in the stadium as it was good enough to see them take the lead in the 31st minutes with a goal from Youssouf Fofana.
The scoreline stayed 0-1 in the favor of the French side who kept on going and holding on to their advantage as the game progressed.
Arsenal soon made a comeback in the 43rd minutes of the match through a wonderful goal which was scored by Edward Nketiah to make things 1-1 between them.
They continued playing the match with the first half ending and second 45 minutes came to life with so much work left to be done.
Monaco did well enough to stay in the match as it was a difficult fight which had them dealing with pressure all through from their opponent.
They both couldn’t make anything happen as the match ended full time with Arsenal unable to add to the scoreline which stayed 1-1.
They headed inside for penalties which was another hard one between them as they couldnt get the job done in normal time.
Arsenal ended up beating Monaco in penalties 5-4 as Minamino failed to convert his penalty that was saved by Aaron Ramsdale.
