Manchester City claimed the UEFA Super Cup title beating Sevilla 5-4 on penalty after playing a 1-1 draw, MySportDab reports.

They had to hold each other so hard all through the 90 minutes which saw them being able to just score one goal each after 90 minutes.

Nemanja Gudelj hit the bar which helped the Champions of Europe were able to come out as the best against their opponent after the shootout.

Match Report

The match was an incredible one which came from both teams who made efforts in the first half, but only one scored a goal.

Manchester City came in with so much from their part as they had all the advantage and also tagged as the favorite to win the title.

Sevilla held things down and proved to be good enough to equally match whatever the Premier League side had to offer on the pitch.

The opening goal of the game came in the 25th minutes which saw Youssef En-Nesyri finishing up neatly which made things 0-1.

There was nothing much to do or play as Sevilla headed for the break with a 0-1 advantage against Manchester City who did a lot but couldn’t match their opponent.

The second half was an entire different ball game which saw them both doing more than what they did in the first 45 minutes which was close.

Sevilla were doing well enough to keep things going for themselves, they tried on their end ensuring they stayed on the lead as they continued.

Manchester City leveled things 1-1 in the 63rd minutes of the match which was a wonderful one with teamwork that saw Rodri setup Cole Palmer who scored the goal.

There was nothing much but wasted chances with both teams going close but were unable from their end to make anything materialize.

They ended the 90 minutes with scoreline still 1-1 and nothing to separate them despite all the opportunities and they headed straight to penalties.

Manchester City came out top with the penalty kicks which they won 5-4 thanks to Nemanja Gudelj who was unable to make his kick count after hitting the bar.
