Liverpool have unveiled their latest addition to the Reds’ squad, Wataru Endo, MySportDab reports.
The club confirmed the signing of Endo sharing footage of his official unveiling by the club.
However, it is understood Endo’s move to the Merseyside club is subject to work permit and international clearance
Endo plays for Japan national team and was plying his trade with Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart before being snapped up by Liverpool.
VfB Stuttgart sold Wataru to Liverpool for £16.7m with the Japanese midfielder signing a four-year contract with the club till 2027
The 30-year-old may likely make his debut for Liverpool in the club’s next Premier League game this weekend.
Speaking after completing his move to the club, Wataru Endo expressed his delight joining the top Premier League side and is ready to get along with his new teammates and give fans the best.
He is the third midfielder joining Liverpool this summer after the Reds completed deals for Marc Allister from Brighton and Szosboslai from RB Leipzig.
The midfield reinforcements became necessary after Liverpool lost the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi League this summer.
Liverpool previously attempted to wrestle with Chelsea for the signatory of two top young Premier League midfielders – Moises Caicedo and Romeo an Lavia.
While the Reds met the club’s asking price for the players, they were dealt heavy blow as the players rejected their advances and opted for a love to Chelsea.
The signing of Wataru Endo comes at the backdrop of the failed attempt to sign Caicedo and Lavia.
Endo plays as a defensive midfielder and will is ready for the new exciting challenge with Liverpool in the Premier League.
