The 10-man list for 2023 Ballon d’Or Kopa Trophy nominees has been announced, MySportDab reports.
The Kopa Trophy award, which is always awarded to the best young player in the previous season, features 10 best nominees who will be expected to clinch the award on October 30.
As usual, fast-rising players and exciting young talents, who are making marks in the game have been listed for the award.
Some previous winners of the award include PSG prolific forward Kylian Mbappe, Barcelona fast-rising youngster and La Masia graduate Gavi, and another Barcelona youngster Pedri.
The Kopa Trophy is the biggest and most coveted individual award for young players in football and is one of the categories of award presented during the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The award is usually award to young player from the age of 21 and below.
Leading the list of this year’s nominees for the award is former winner Pedri of Barcelona, who had a prolific season with Barcelona last season, winning Laliga.
Two other Barcelona youngsters – Gavi and Alendro Balde – are also on the list of nominees.
Real Madrid have two representatives – Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham – nominated for award.
Manchester United new signing from Serie A side Atalanta, Rasmus Holjund, has also been nominated for the award including RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Lens’ Elye Wahi.
Bayern Munich’s Jamaal Musiala and Antonio Silva completes the list of the 10-man nominees, who will enter the race for the prestigious award on October 30.
