Embattled Manchester United star Antony has arrived Manchester Police unit to answer assault charges, MySportDab reports.
Antony touched down the city of Manchester on Monday from Brazil where he went on an holiday, having being released from Man United squad to aid investigations into assault allegations by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin and other Brazil women.
Pictured with his luggage back to Manchester, MySportDab understand Antony is still freezed out of Manchester United squad despite returning and will not play for the team at the moment.
He is coming to answer charges from Manchester Police after Gabriela Cavallin also reported the matter to Manchester authorities where one of the incident of the alleged abuse reportedly occured.
Reports reaching us from The Sun this afternoon have confirmed Antony has arrived Manchester Police unit to answer to the said charges.
Sources close to the player revealed he will hand over his phone to the police for further investigations.
Antony’s decision to visit the Manchester Police unit followed his pledge to cooperate with the Police at every point of the investigation as he sets out to clear his name.
His main accuser, Gabriela Cavallin, will also jet into UK soon according to reports to narrate her own side of the story.
Antony will not be arrested but the Police will take a decision on whether to press charges against him or not after due investigations.
Also, Antony was reportedly allowed by Brazil police to travel out of the country back to UK after he cooperated with the authorities on the investigation into the allegations.
The Brazil police are also yet to press charges against him as they are yet to conclude their investigations on the player.
Antony has denied ever assaulting Gabriela Cavallin and all the other women coming out to accuse him and has insisted he is innocent.
Meanwhile, he will not return to Manchester United until the investigation is concluded.
We reported earlier one of the accusers, a Brazil law student, Ingrid Lana, has dropped her allegations against Antony but the other women – Gabriela Cavallin and Freitas are still pressing charges against him.
According to Gabriela Cavallin, Antony assaulted her on several occasions since they started dating before finally breaking up.
She suffered brutal treatments, lost her 15-month pregnancy, including her breast implant, and even had to be hospitalized in an occasion.
Freitas, a 33-year-old Brazil banker, said Antony pushed her to the wall trying to force himself on her against her wish.
Amidst the allegations, Antony’s career is obviously on a knife edge and he could only revive his career if he could come out unscathed from the allegations.
