Tottenham Hotspur saw off 9-man Liverpool in London to grab a late 2-1 win over the Reds, MySportDab reports.

It was an engaging game between the two sides as they tried to take the lead with sensational display.

Liverpool were dealt an early blow in the game as they had their key man Curtis Jones sent off.

The red card twisted the game in favor of Tottenham Hotspur who seemed to be dominating proceedings as the Reds were down to 10 men.

Liverpool still put up a strong fight and were maintaining their attacking threats despite playing with a man down

After a dragging game, Heung-Min Son finally broke the goal deadlock, scoring to put Tottenham ahead.

It was a deserved lead for the home side who were dominating proceedings as Liverpool were down to 10 men.

After conceding, Liverpool put up a great attacking display, trying to mount a response despite having one man down.

Towards the end of the first half, the visitors were finally able to score and equalize to bring the scoreline to a 1-1 draw before the first half break.

Cody Gakpo scored the equaliser for the Reds to cap a brilliant game for the visitors, who made light of their one-man disadvantage.

The first half ended with both sides going into the break with the 1-1 draw.

 

In the second half, Liverpool put up a more brilliant performance but were still dominated by Tottenham.

Despite some clear chances created by both sides, they were unable to find the back of the net with the game far spent.

Late in the game, Liverpool were dealt another blow again as Diogo Jota bagged his second yellow card and was sent off further reducing Liverpool to 9 men.

Tottenham had a better control of the game after Jota was sent off but Liverpool made light of the two red cards and nearly ran out with a draw before Joel Matip scored an own goal that handed Spurs victory.

The match ended with Spurs grabbing a 2-1 win over 9-man Liverpool to close the gap on Manchester City and Arsenal.
