Manchester United have confirmed the loan exit of Mason Greenwood to LaLiga, MySportDab reports.
United’s club statement confirmed the departure of Mason Greenwood to Laliga in sequence to the club’s decision to part ways with the player after after internal investigation into the rape saga.
We reported earlier Manchester United made a deadline day move to offer Mason Greenwood to Lazio but the move collapsed at the final hours.
Now, the club have confirmed Mason Greenwood has joined Spanish side Getafe on loan till 2024.
Details of the loan move as revealed by Fabrizio Romano shows Mason Greenwood will be back at Manchester United in 2024 as there is no buy clause attached to the loan deal.
How the two clubs are going to share Greenwood’s wage bills is yet to be revealed as of the time of filing this report.
MySportDab understand Mason Greenwood earned £75,000 weekly at Manchester United and the club was still footing his bills despite his suspension from the squad.
Greenwood still has two years remaining at Manchester United but will now wile out one year with the loan move to Getafe.
It is still unclear whether Manchester United will resettle him back at the squad after his loan spell at Getafe as they have not included a buy option in the deal.
Despite the decision to part ways with Mason Greenwood this summer after the internal investigations, Manchester United maintained Mason Greenwood was not found guilty of the alleged charges and the club also considered integrating back as one of the options.
They later have to work out an exit solution for the player to enable resettle in his career away from Old Trafford.
