Newcastle United have named their 23-man squad for the 2023/24 Champions League campaign, MySportDab reports.
The Magpies who battled off Champions League regulars like Chelsea and Liverpool last season to return to the elite club competition last season after 20 years, have been handed the toughest Champions League group.
They are placed in Group F alongside Champions League heavyweights such as PSG, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund.
A shock additiona to the list of Newcastle United 23-man squad, is 31-year-old Paul Dummett, who has rarely tasted action with the club since 2021/22 season but has been included in the squad.
Paul Dummett could be regarded as Newcastle United legend, having made 205 appearances for the club after graduating from the club’s academy but has struggled for first team action since, Eddie Howe’s big shuffle in the squad.
However, his inclusion has been offset witn key names who starred for the club last season in the Premier League making the list.
Nick Pope, who kept the sticks for the Magpies as first choice goalkeeper last season, have made the squad, including two other goalkeepers – Martin Dubravka and Lloris Karius.
New attacking midfielder, signed from AC Milan this summer, Sandro Tonali, has made the list including English top stars like Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson.
Top striker Alexander Isak and prolific midfielder Bruno Guimaraes have made the list including Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron.
The Magpies will kickoff their Champions League campaign against AC Milan with Sandro Tonali set to face his old club.
After the Milan clash, they have French giants PSG and German giants to battle in other group fixtures.
