In addition to Nigeria, Pot 2 includes football powerhouses such as Mali, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Each of these teams will be drawn into distinct groups, each consisting of four teams.
Jose Peseiro’s men emerged as the leaders of their qualifying group, amassing an impressive fifteen points from six games. One of the standout moments of their qualification campaign was a resounding 10-0 victory over São Tomé and Príncipe in 2022.

However, the Super Eagles could potentially face a challenging group stage, with the possibility of encountering defending champions Senegal, hosts Cote d’Ivoire, as well as football giants like Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt.
Pot 3 is comprised of South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, Cape Verde, Guinea, 2012 AFCON Champions Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania.
Meanwhile, Pot 4 features Angola, Guinea Bissau, Namibia, Mozambique, Gambia, and Namibia, who are set to make their third-ever appearance at the tournament.
With their sights set on an improved performance, the Super Eagles aim to go further in the competition, bolstered by the addition of key talents like Victor Boniface and Gift Orban, both in remarkable form.
The eagerly anticipated draw ceremony is scheduled to take place in the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
