Shocking scenes unfurled on Saturday matchday as a team bus caught fire after a return trip from an away match, MySportDab reports.
While such scenes are rare and gory, it was sad that it occured yesterday to the shock of the team, the fans, and the global football family.
The remote and immediate causes of the incident are yet to to be unraveled but investigations are on.
MySportDab learnt the club involved in the shocking incident is League One side Barnsley.
The team were on an away League One match to Exeter and had wrapped the game with a narrow 1-0 win thanks to Luton Town loanee, John McTee’s 89th minute goal that turned out to be the match winner.
After the game, Barnsley players took to the team bus and were on their way home when the grim occurrence ravaged the team bus.
Footages made available on social showed the team bus suddenly going up in flames in the middle on the road, just few miles South of Cheltenham.
However, the good news is that all the players and the coaching staff were speedily evacuated safely before the bus exploded with flames.
Exeter club statement confirming the incident and safe evacuation of all the staff onboard the burnt vehicle reads;
“We can confirm that on the way back from our fixture against Exeter City this evening, our club coach suffered complications and subsequently caught fire.
”All players and staff on board were evacuated safely. Everyone is in good health.

Traffic on the Cheltenham road hoarded up due to the incident but emergency service agency were quick to arrest the malaise, shipping off the burnt vehicle off the road for a smooth traffic.
It has been confirmed no one has been injured by the fire outbreak but authorities have begun Investigations into the incident.
Barnsley sits third on League One table after the win over Exeter and have now secured back-to-back wins in the English third tier.
