Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has broken his silence on Marcus Rashford poor start to the season, MySportDab reports.
Rashford, who emerged as the club’s top striker last season, is struggling to return to elite level performance this season.
In seven Premier League games so far this season, Marcus Rashford has only one goal and an assist.
This is a stark contrast to last season when he scored 17 Premier League goals, 6 Europa League goals, and 6 Carabao Cup goals to take his goal tally to 29 across all competitions at the end of the campaign.
With just a goal and assist after 8 competitive games for the club, it is obvious Marcus Rashford may not hit his last season goal tally.
His underwhelming start to the campaign has coincided with Manchester United’s rocky start after eight matches.
The Red Devils have lost five matches, winning three in what has been their worst start to a season in 34 years.
Marcus Rashford’s dwindling fortune has certainly impacted Man United’s overall outing so far this season with United fans hopeful the young forward will hit his goal-scoring form soon.
Amid concerns by the fans, Erik ten Hag has weighed into what must have caused Rashford’s poor form so far.
In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag said;
“If Marcus works hard and invests everyday with the right focus and if the team around him supplies and help him with movement, then it will come.
“Rashford is a guy who is capable of scoring in every game, trust me.”
Rashford will be expected to start for Manchester United as they welcome Turkish champions Galatasaray to Old Trafford in Champions League matchday two clash today.
