Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is trudging a dark phase in his career at Manchester United unlike last season when he was the club’s posterboy banging goals week-in and week-out to complete a turnaround of the club’s domestic fortunes in ten Hag’s debut season.
Rashford hauled in 30 goals in all competitions for Manchester United, returning the team to top four in ten Hag’s first season as manager.
It was thought ten Hag will be able to build on his initial gains after his transformational debut stint but the opposite has been the case.
For the first time in 34 years, Manchester United have had their worst start to the season with 6 defeats in 9 games, including back-to-back Champions League defeat and back-to-back home defeats at Old Trafford.
While United’s rocky start to the campaign has been linked to number of players that have been sidelined due to crippling injury issues especially at the defense, a poor run of form for some Man United players have also impacted the club’s fortunes.
Marcus Rashford is one of such players whose poor run of form have weighed heavily on Manchester United underwhelming start to the season.
Rashford has managed only one goal and assist in all competitions far Manchester United so far this season – a stark contrast to his sensational outing last term.
Amid his plummeting form, the Mirror report Rashford may likely lose his starting berth at Man United.
The report adds sources close to Manchester United have revealed Erik ten Hag is planning a major squad reshuffle to reset the squad in the wake of the shock Champions League home defeat to Galatasaray.
Should the plan comes through, it will be the first time Rashford have dropped down the pecking order since his break-in into Man United first team.
The English youngster has been a first-choice striker for all different managers that have taken charge of Manchester United since the exit of Sir Alex Ferguson.
