FT: Ethiopia 1-1 Nigeria, Ajibade Rescue Super Falcons (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Ajibade goal was enough as the Super Falcons of Nigeria claimed a 1-1 draw against Ethiopia, MySportDab reports.

The Ethiopian Women were solid enough as they had everything under control in the first half of the encounter keeping their lead.

The Super Falcons did enough as a late goal was called off for offside despite the goal being scored from an onside position.

Match Report

The game came to live between both Women Nations for the Olympic Games which saw the home side starting so well.

Ethiopia wasted no time in taking the lead which came in the 6th minutes from Birkie Amare after a corner which resulted in making things 1-0 for them.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria had their moments going forward but they couldn’t put anything together resulting to a goal as the first half carried on.

Oshoala had the biggest opportunity of the match but she couldn’t finish off as the ball fell for her in an acknowledge position as they carried.

The first half was close but it was Ethiopia Women who headed for the break with a 1-0 lead against the Super Falcons of Nigeria after 45 minutes.

There was a lot more to be seen in the second half which the game opened up a bit with more opportunities coming from both ends.

Nigeria had all the work to do in the match coming into the second half that was expected to see them make some changes in the encounter going forward.

The game continued with Atletico Madrid Women player Ajibade scoring from outside the box in the 52nd minutes to make it 1-1 against Ethiopia.

Ifeoma Onumonu scored a late goal which was judged as offside leaving the Super Falcons of Nigeria to play out a 1-1 draw against Ethiopia as they await the second leg.
