How Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ownership Will Affect Mason Greenwood’s Man United Future

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to become Manchester United partial owner with a lot of changes expected at the club, MySportDab reports.

Sources close to the club have revealed some top officials especially in the sporting and football department will resign when Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.4bn is ratified.

The Ineos billionaire will be handed an exclusive control of Manchester United sporting operations, overseeing recruitment of playing staff, their welfare, hiring manager, training ground upgrade, and every other aspects related to sports.

Worthy to note, Sir Jim Ratcliffe wasn’t a popular bidder compared to his rival Sheikh Jassim who withdrew from the race due to the Glazers’ “outlandish” £6bn valuation of the club.

However, the petrochemical executive is a beacon of hope for United fans who want at least a slight break from the Glazers’ purportedly mismanagement of the club after 18 years.

With an overhaul expected in Manchester United’s sporting operations in the hands of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, players like Mason Greenwood with an uncertain future at Old Trafford are likely to be affected.

According to reports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants a ‘fresh start’ to his reign at Manchester United and is not keen on drawbacks linked to players or staffs.

He has even eyed a new sporting director to join him on his task to rebuild and refurbish the club’s sporting life.

Mason Greenwood was at the center of a heated controversy that divided Manchester United fans before he was loaned to Getafe.

According to reports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe may not want to start his reign at Manchester United on the hills of controversy and is cool with allowing Mason Greenwood continue his career away from Old Trafford so as not to disturb the peace.

Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood has reportedly expressed his desire to continue his career with Getafe beyond 2024 when his loan deal was set to expire.

The English youngster is reportedly happy with the support of Getafe fans, the club’s hierarchy, and wants his loan deal made permanent.

At the expiration of his loan deal with Getafe, Mason Greenwood will have a year left on his Manchester United.

Sources close to Ratcliffe have revealed the English billionaire may likely sell the player to avoid the distraction of having him back to Old Trafford while recouping the funds to upgrade United transfer activities.
