Lionel Messi Breaks Silence On Inter Miami Future As MLS Season Ends

Lionel Messi has finally broken his long-held silence as Inter Miami wraps up 2023 MLS season with a defeat, MySportDab reports.

All eyes were on the Barcelona legend as he make a shock transfer exit to the US elite division, joining Inter Miami in a two year deal till 2025.

Since his arrival, Inter Miami has recorded immense sporting and commercia success, including the MLS as a whole.

Messi singlehandedly overturned Inter Miami winless streak on his debut, scoring a sensational late free-kick that have the Herons their first win after 15 matches winless run.

Since making his debut, Inter Miami constituted themselves into a top MLS team team to be reckoned with.

They won their first ever silverware, clinching League Cup and also reached the final of US Open Cup thanks to Lionel Messi man of the match and showstopping performances.

Messi scored 11 goals in 13 games for Inter Miami and was the center of attention with top celebrities thronging into Inter Miami and other MLS matches to see the football superstar play.

Despite their recent gains, the club’s explosive form began to crack especially when Lionel Messi suffered an injury that saw him sidelined.

The team also failed to make it to 2023 MLS Playoffs following a series of abysmal results in the MLS.

Their final MLS match against Charlotte FC ended on a defeat but Mess is “proud” with what he and the team have achieved.

Taking to his social media after playing his last game this season for the club, Lionel Messi listed the achievements of the team and thanked fans for their immense support.

“Proud of what the team accomplished this season. With everyone’s support, we reached the finals of US Open Cup and also won Leagues Cup.” he wrote.

Messi also hinted on his future at the club as he added, “I’m sure we will continue to have amazing moments together as we have in the last few months.”

Inter Miami have a series of preseason friendlies before next season with Lionel Messi expected to continue with the team.

He was linked to a loan move away from the club to Barcelona but reportedly turned down the move.
