David de Gea has reportedly turned down a huge offer from Al Nassr that would have seen him reunite with his old teammate and Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo, MySportDab reports.
De Gea has been without a club since his unceremonious exit from Manchester United in June.
He has been linked to top clubs in and off the shores of Europe but he is yet to broker a deal and return to action.
According to a report from The Sun, Al Nassr have reportedly come with a lucrative contract offer with a bumper weekly paycheck of £500,000 for De Gea but the Spaniard has turned them down.
The humongous paycheck is double what Manchester United offered De Gea back in June but it appears the legendary goalie seems less motivated with the cash offer.
A move to Al Nassr would have seen him reunite with his former Man United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in what would have been a reunion of Man United legends at the elite Saudi outfit.
Neither the cash offer or the prospects of sharing a table with Cristiano Ronaldo again motivated David De Gea.
Sources close to the Man United legend revealed his wife Edurne Garcia, whom he wedded on the day he lost his job as Man United goalkeeper, is not pleased with a move to Saudi Arabia and will not join him to the Middle East should he agree a deal with Al Nassr.
Since his contract renewal deadlock at Manchester United, De Gea has had offers from top clubs in Europe as well.
He was linked to Bayern Munich with Inter Milan also interested in a move but a deal could not materialize.
At the wake of Andre Onana’s imminent absence from Manchester United due to 2023 AFCON in January, David de Gea was linked to Manchester United return on a short-term deal as a stand-in for the Cameroonian shotstopper.
The Old Trafford return rumors was later quashed with fresh report Erik ten Hag is ready to hand Altay Bayindir a chance for a first team role in Onana’s absence.
De Gea is currently linked with a move to La Liga side Real Betis with the homebased club reportedly ready for a deal.
Real Betis could be David de Gea’s last stop on his legendary career should he complete a move to the club.
Meanwhile, he has been spotted on individual training sessions trying to tune up his skills as he prepares for a new challenge.
