Ghana Or England National Team? English FA Make SHOCK Move On Kobbie Mainoo

Kobbie Mainoo starred for Manchester United as the Red Devils eased pass Everton with their biggest Premier League win so far this season, MySportDab reports.

The Stockport-born Ghanaian youngster made a sensational EPL start for Manchester United, putting up a man-of-the-match performance in the game to earn the plaudits of pundits and fans as well.

Manchester United legend and pundit Roy Keane described Kobbie Mainoo as ‘the most valuable Man United player by street’ and added his performance against Everton was ‘brilliant.’

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes hailed the youngster for his maturity and creativity with ball while Man United manager Erik ten Hag made a bold prediction that Mainoo will be key to his Man United squad, cementing his place fast in the team.

After the promising Premier League start, the next big item on Kobbie Mainoo’s career will be his choice of national team.

Mainoo is of Ghanaian descent but was born and raised in Stockport, England.

He has had spell with England youth team, playing for England U-19 before his breakout into full professional career.

As things stand, Mainoo is eligible to play for Ghana or England with both national teams expected to vy for the allegiance of the youngster to their national teams.

According to report from The Mail, the English FA are already hopeful of having Kobbie Mainoo play for England national team.

The youngster is reportedly expected to be called for Lee Carsley’s England U-21 squad in March if he cements his place in Erik ten Hag’s Man United squad before then.

The FA are also hopeful of maximum cooperation from Lee Carsley to call up the youngster in due time to aid his smooth transition to England national team.

Mainoo did not record an assist or a goal for Manchester United on his full debut but his creativity, dribbling skills, passing accuracy, interceptions was an envy of pundits and fans.

It still remains to be seen which national team he will play for but it appears he will likely go for England national team.
