Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was handsomely rewarded with his biggest win so far this season as he handed Kobbie Mainoo his first Premier League start, MySportDab reports.

United were gradually emerging from the hoods of a shambolic start to the season with three consecutive wins but were still on a negative goal difference on the table due to narrow victories and big defeats.

Against Everton at Goodison Park, the Red Devils chalked off all the goal deficits with their biggest Premier League win so far this season.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring in the 3rd minute after he latched on Luke Shaw’s cross and let fly of a thunderous overhead kick to give the Red Devils the lead.

Marcus Rashford finally broke a lengthy goal drought, scoring from the spot to double the lead in the second half.

Anthony Martial also emerged from the woods of a scoreless streak to slot home the third goal pass Pickford to make it 3-0.

Despite not finding the back of the net, Man United teenage sensation Kobbie Mainoo has earned plaudits for his contribution to the remarkable performance against the Toffees.

Mainoo, who was on his first Premier League start for Man United, stabilized United midfield against the home side and was creative with possession.

He contributed immensely to Man United transitions into attack and made crucial interceptions and clearances in the match.

Reacting to Kobbie Mainoo’s sensational Premier League start, Erik ten Hag has made a bold prediction of Mainoo’s Man United fortunes.

The Dutch has tipped Mainoo to ‘make a lot of progress’ in his Man United squad and his career after the remarkable display against Everton.

ten Hag reiterated the enormous potential embedded in the youngster and his huge chance to easily establish his place in Man United squad.

“He has a lot of ability.

‘‘It was a really disappointing moment in pre-season when he got so badly injured for him but also for our team because I know he can progress a lot if he plays many such games like today. I know players, young players especially, develop very quickly.

‘‘We thought this was the moment to bring him in. We prepared him properly but he did a great job and now he has to build on this.’’he said.

Manchester United will take on Galatasaray in a crucial Champions League fixture in the next game with Kobbie Mainoo expected to be handed his first Champions League start.
