Bayern Munich have booked their ticket for the round of 16 of 2023/24 Champions League with a win over Turkish giants, Galatasaray, MySportDab reports.

The Bavarians maintained their perfect start to the campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over the star-studded Turkish side in Germany.

The game was off to a frenetic start as the match kicked off. Bayern Munich stayed atop proceedings but left it late before landing their first punch.

Galatasaray gave the Bundesliga giants a tough fight as they looked set to grab at least a point at Allianz Arena and avenge their first leg defeat back in Turkey.

It was largely an open game between both sides as they held nothing back with speedy and energetic attacking display and counter.

Bayern Munich were the better side going forward. They wielded more possession and dominated proceedings but could not make anything happen.

The Bavarians needed a win to book their place in the next round of the tournament while Galatasaray needed to stay aloof in the group in the race for qualification into the next round of the tournament.

Harry Kane, who has came up clutch on most occasions with the highest goal tally for the club so far this term, was muffled by the away side but it was a matter of time before the England captain finds his ground.

Late in the second half, Harry Kane finally dropped the curtain raiser with a beautiful strike. Six minutes after, he scored again to double the lead and set the home side enroute to victory.

The quickfire brace lit the game with Galatasaray fighting hard to find their way through.

Bakambu finally scored for the Turkish side to reduce the deficit but the match ended with Bayern Munich running out with a 2-1 win to book Champions League quarterfinal ticket.
