Chelsea claimed a 2-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers in their EFL Carabao Cup match, MySportDab reports.
Beniot Badiashile marked his return to the starting lineup with a goal which helped the team going forward.
The Blues qualified for the Carabao Cup Quarter final which put them one step forward in winning the title this season.
Match Report
The first half was brilliant with Mauricio Pochettino making so many changes to the team which played their previous match.
Blackburn Rovers started well by going head to head against the home side who did not expect a hard fight in the early stages.
Chelsea continued to make chances but couldn’t score as Enzo Fernandez and Reece James forced some saves from the goalkeeper who was in form.
Beniot Badiashile scored in the 30th minutes after benefiting from a loosed ball after a corner which he was quick to react and made things 1-0.
Chelsea held on to the 1-0 lead entering the break against Blackburn Rovers who did so much from their end but couldn’t make anything happen.
They came into the remaining half of the match looking to finish off the job which the visiting side were also equally into the game.
Chelsea Kept on pushing for more which their aim was to quickly kill off the game before the away side gain any confidence going forward.
Blackburn Rovers were good but they got stunned once again in the 59th minutes by Raheem Sterling who scored to make things 2-0 as they pushed on.
The England International saw a number of opportunities and also did created other for the Blues who couldn’t add anything to their lead as they carried on.
The game ended with Chelsea qualifying into the next round after beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0 in the EFL Carabao Cup tie at Stamford Bridge.
