Cristiano Ronaldo made it count as Portugal claimed a 0-2 victory against Liechtenstein, MySportDab reports.

The Portuguese national team are already through to the European Championship which will be happening next year 2024.

It was a determined first half display from the home side who gave good account of themselves with everything going as planned.

Portugal came into the game knowing their spot is secured as they have won everything needed to put them in pole position moving forward.

Liechtenstein were persistent on making sure the match is one they did not concede anything with them dealing with so much as the game continued between them.

There was no way anything was happening with the Portuguese National team getting more opportunities but they all presented to nothing close.

Liechtenstein held Portugal to a goalless 0-0 scoreline after 45 minutes of action which wasn’t too pleasant for the away side who created more opportunities.

The second half was one sided with the goals coming in and also deciding the outcome which was expected to have happened anyway.

Liechtenstein continued to held on fine by making sure there was no way in for their opponent who continued to pile on the pressure as they pushed on.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave Portugal the lead with a stunning goal which came in the 47th minutes of the match from a wonderful assist from Jota to make it 0-1.

Joao Cancelo doubled the advantage with another goal in the 57th minutes which made the scoreline 0-2 further away from any coming back between both teams.

It a quite end to the remaining minutes of the match which just few things took place as the away side made sure they were safe till the end.

Portugal needed nothing much as they continued the game and made sure it ended in their favor 0-2 against Liechtenstein which was a fair enough result after 90 minutes.
