The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a 1-1 at home against Lesotho in their World Cup qualifiers match, MySportDab reports.
It was another poor showdown from the Super Eagles who played without Victor Osimhen for their opening game.
They will hope to make something of their upcoming game which is the second match of the qualification series.
Match Report
The Super Eagles came into the encounter with many tipping them to open their qualifications series for the next FIFA World Cup in grand style.
The situation wasn’t easy as Lesotho came prepared firing with every thing they had to offer which caused massive problem for the Nigerian players.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria were not staying back themselves as they pushed looking to make the most of their dominance which did not paid off.
The clash continued hitting 30 minutes with nothing good to call a goal from both ends as they both saw some opportunities on goal but couldn’t finish off.
Nigeria were held to a 0-0 goalless scoreline in the first half which saw Lesotho putting up a good fight with their defending and pushing forward.
The remaining half of the match was brilliant with something coming from both ends which was worked so hard to make happen for themselves.
Lesotho scored a shocker in the 56th minutes of the encounter which turned the game 0-1 with the goal coming from Mkwanazi who’s finishing was perfect.
Nigeria had all to play in the match as they did went on making some substitution in the game knowing everything was against them to score the leveler.
The equalizer came in the 67th minutes which saw Ajayi making it count as his goal brought back the Super Eagles into the fold 1-1 as they continued pushed for more.
Unfortunately there was nothing more as Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw against Lesotho which spell some bad start for the Super Eagles who could have done better.
