Barcelona have dropped points again in La Liga as they stumbled to a draw against Rayo Vallecano today, MySportDab reports.

The Catalans seems to the losing the tempo and momentum to defend the title they won last season.

Against Rayo Vallecano, it was another tough clash as they narrowly escaped defeat save an own goal by Lejeune with less than 10 minutes on the clock.

Rayo Vallecano have been a tough nut for big teams to crack La Liga this season and they again prove what they areade of as they take on the Catalan giants.

They started off on a good note and matched Barcelona’s pace and attack with equal strength.

In the 39th minute, Barcelona conceded the first goal of the game and it was enough to send Rayo Vallecano into the break with the lead.

Lopez scored for the home side delivering a beautiful goal to give them the lead for the visitors.

In the second half, Barcelona battled helplessly to break the goal deadlock and level the scores all to no avail.

The La Liga champions needed a late own goal by Lejeune to level terms as Rayo Vallecano put up a solid display to preserve the lead.

The match finally ended with both sides settling for a 1-1 draw in what could be seen as a disappointing outing for the Catalans.

With the draw, Barcelona are third on the table with 31 points from 14 games, 3 points adrift from leaders Girona, and a point away from Real Madrid in second place – both teams have a game in hand.

Atletico Madrid can as well leapfrog them into the third place with 32 points if they win their next two outstanding matches.
