It is a sad day for football lovers around the world as Raphael Dwamena, a Ghanaian striker footballer has passed away after collapsing during an Albanian Super League match on Saturday, MySportDab reports.

The Albanian Football Federation confirmed the death of the 28-year-old former La Liga star player.

Dwamena collapsed while playing for KF Egnatia against Partizani in an Abissnet Superiore match yesterday, November 11.

According to reports, Raphael Dwamena has been struggling with a heart issue and was equipped with a defilibrator to aid his heart health while he continues with his career.

In the viral footage which is available at the end of this post, Raphael Dwamena could be seen collapsing suddenly to the ground while the match was on.

Due to the incident, the match was halted by the referee as players and officials rushed to the scene to salvage the situation.

Dwamena was gathered by the players and officials while he lay flat on the ground before an ambulance zoomed into the pitch to whisked him off from the field to a medical center.

Sadly, he was confirmed death to the shock and surprise off all with his club, former clubs, and Ghana Football Federation confirming the sad incident.

The match was abandoned as a result while the scores stood at 1-1 and will not be replayed.

Raphael Dwamena is the second Ghanaian player to pass on tragically of recent after Christian Atsu was buried in Turkish earthquake last year.
