Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has reacted to an apology from Ghana lawmaker Isaac Adongo, MySportDab reports.
Adongo dropped a viral satire on Harry Maguire in January 2023, comparing Ghana’s economic chiefs to the England defender.
According to him, Ghana economic ministers had dragged the Ghana economy to the mud by enacting policies that are self-defeating and not defending the economy.
In a nutshell, Adongo said the ruling political party in Ghana have underperformed just as Harry Maguire was underperforming for Manchester United then
Instead of defending the economy, they are acting like Harry Maguire by scoring economic own goals to the detriment of Ghana.
Adongo’s parliamentary rhetoric resonated with football fans worldwide because Harry Maguire was not performing well for Manchester United that time.
Now, Harry Maguire is on top his game at Old Trafford, earning the trust and confidence of Erik ten Hag and starting both Premier League and Champion’s League matches.
With his drastic overturn of his fortunes, Isaac Adongo deemed it necessary to tender an apology to the England defender.
Still on the same platform he roasted Harry Maguire early this year, Adongo stood up to retrieve his comments on Maguire and rendered an apology.
He said Maguire is a key player for Manchester United and has improved his performance for the club hence his apology.
In a quote shared by ESPNC, Harry Maguire has responded to Adongo’s apology.
Maguire took to his social media handle and wrote, ”MP Isaac Adongo apology accepted. See you at Old Trafford soon.”
After a difficult stint under Erik ten Hag, Maguire is indeed now a key player for Manchester United and has regained his starting berth at the club.
