Inter Miami have dropped a bombshell on reports the club will partake in Saudi Arabia Season Cup in February 2024, MySportDab reports.

Owner of LaLiga club Almeria and Chairman of General Authority For Entertainment for the Saudi government, Turki Alalshikh, had tweeted of the blockbuster friendly and even unveiled an advert to that effect of the expected friendly.

Due to Turki Alalshikh’s tweet, it was believed Inter Miami have been invited for the three-team tournament which was set to kick off February, 2024.

The tournament was expected to feature the biggest names in modern football – Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in what would have been a big match-up for football fans.

In his advert for the match, Turki Alalshikh titled the expected Al Nassr Vs Inter Miami match as the ‘Last Dance’ between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Now, Inter Miami have poured cold water on the report, insisting the club have not been invited for any tournament in Saudi Arabia and are not planning any friendly with Al Nassr.

Inter Miami press statement reads;

‘Earlier today, an announcement was issued stating that Inter Miami CF is scheduled to play in the Riyadh Season Cup. This is inaccurate,’

‘The release included statements attributed to team owner Jorge Mas. Mas has made no comments, publicly or privately, in relation to the preseason tour.

Inter Miami also added the club is yet to plan their presseason tour for 2024 and arrangements and schedule for the tour will be announced this week.

It is evident Inter Miami may not take part in the said friendly as announced by Turki Alalshikh hence the much-anticipated Ronaldo Vs Messi match-up may not hold.
