Manchester United have confirmed another devastating injury blow involving key player Casemiro, MySportDab reports.

United club statement confirmed Casemiro has picked up a harmstring injury and will miss ‘several weeks’ of action.

“Casemiro will be out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered during our Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday.

“The Brazilian midfielder was withdrawn at half-time due to the issue, and subsequent assessment has revealed a strain that will keep him out for a number of weeks,” Manchester United club statement reads.

Casemiro was substituted at half time in the EFL Cup defeat to Newcastle United at Old Trafford by Erik ten Hag.

Speaking in post match press conference, ten Hag confirmed he subbed off the Brazilian because of injury but did not reveal how long the player will stay on the sidelines.

With United’s club statement, Casemiro is expected to miss many weeks of action but it is still unclear how long he will remain be on the sidelines.

Casemiro’s injury is a big blow to Manchester United who already have top talents on the sidelines coupled with a run of poor results so far this season.

Casemiro has been key to Erik ten Hag’s squad plan, and is a reguler starter since he joined from Real Madrid last summer.

His injury adds to United piling list of injury woes with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, and Luke Shaw all sidelined.

Manchester United will take on Fulham in their next game with the Brazilian expected to miss the match and several other matches.
