Rodrygo Signs New Long-term Contract With Real Madrid

Brazil youngster Rodrygo has signed a new long-term contract with Real Madrid, MySportDab reports.

Rodrygo pens down a new deal hours after his Brazil teammate Vinicius Jr also extended his stay with the Los Blancos.

The pair are elite young talents in football with an outstanding career trail at the Spanish capital hence the contract renewal comes less of a surprise.

Real Madrid considered it ideal tieing the two youngsters to long term contracts as part of the club’s plan to refurbish and preserve the team with younger talents as the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric zeros up on their contracts with no extension plans due to age factor.

Vinicius Jr penned a new four year contract until 2027 while Rodrygo is signing until 2028.

The two players have made over 400 appearances for Real Madrid since joining the team at tender age with over 100 goals scored between them.

Vinicius Jr has over 235 caps to his belt with the Los Blancos with 62 goals while Rodrygo has made 179 appearances with 39 goals scored.

Following their new contract extension, Real Madrid have slammed £1bn release clause on their heads to tie them down at the Santiago Bernabeu and deter interests from suitors.

Unlike his compatriot, Vinicius Jr’s Real Madrid future was uncertain following spates of racial attacks that brought the player at odds with Spanish football authorities.

Rodrygo relatively had a rosey ride with the Laliga giants and was poised from onset to extend his deal without much ado.

The two players remain active with Brazil national team and have won over 40 caps since they made their debut.
