Nigerian prolific striker Victor Osimhen has broken his silence on a possible move to Saudi Arabia and 2022 Ballon d’Or rankings, MySportDab reports.
Osimhen was largely linked to a move to Saudi Arabia last summer with rumors having it that he was set to leave Napoli.
Speaking on Saudi move, Osimhen revealed Saudi clubs actually came with a tempting offer for him to move to the Gulf state.
He also added he did not have the intention of joining any club in Saudi Arabia but was almost tempted with a very lucrative offer.
However, he later chose to continue with Napoli after he spoke to the club and had his assurances by the club’s hierarchy.
“To be honest, I never thought of leaving last summer as Napoli wanted to keep me.
“But when the offer from Saudi Arabia came in, it was a huge and big offer so difficult to reject.
“I spoke to Napoli and then decide to stay with the club,” Osimhen said in a live podcast with Mikel Obi.
On his Ballon d’Or ranking, Victor Osimhen revealed he was happy with what he achieved with Napoli and being ranked 8th on the Ballon d’Or rankings.
When asked about Africans and Nigerians who did not vote him, Osimhen said he had no qualms with how Nigerians or Africans voted as everyone are entitled to their opinions.
Victor Osimhen is currently sidelined but is nearing his return to action with the Azzuri. He scored 26 league goals last season to end Napoli’s 33 years wait for the Scudetto.
This season, he has netted six goals for the club before picking up an injury while on international break.
